- Loeb-Sullivan School of International Business and Logistics
- Degree programs with an international focus are offered by the college's Loeb-Sullivan School of International Business and Logistics: B.S., International Business and Logistics; and M.S., Global Supply Chain Management; Maritime Management; and Logistics Management.
- Worldwide Training
- Maine Maritime Academy's annual spring training cruises takes student to domestic and foreign ports of call. Students pursuing an officer's license from the U.S. Coast Guard as a third mate or third assistant engineer are required to train at sea for at least 60 days in each of their first three years at the college. Freshmen and juniors sail aboard the MMA vessel, while sophomores are assigned to merchant ships worldwide through the college's Cadet Shipping Program.
- In recent years, MMA cruises have taken students to Puerto Rico, Bermuda, Gibraltar, Russia, Poland, Spain, Iceland, Germany, and Ireland; as well as other European and Caribbean countries. Training cruises have also hosted international trade missions sponsored by the Maine International Trade Center of Portland, Maine. Some cadet shipping students have literally sailed around the world during their training.

- Cooperative Education programs, offering training and experience within industry, frequently involve business on an international level and occasionally take students to international work places.
- Student Body & Faculty
- Maine Maritime Academy regularly enrolls international students in its undergraduate and graduate programs. Students and faculty have represented the countries of India, Liberia, Iran, Kuwait, Canada, People's Republic of China, Russia, and Singapore, as well as many others.
- Off-Campus Graduate Courses
- Graduate-level courses commonly covering areas of study with an international focus are occasionally offered at the Maine International Trade Center in Portland, Maine. - International Exchange Programs
- Educational and/or cultural exchange programs are available to Maine Maritime Academy students at the undergraduate level with Makarov Maritime Academy, St. Petersburg, Russia; Estonian Maritime Academy, Tallinn, Estonia; and Dokzul Eylul University, School of Maritime Business and Management, Izmir, Turkey. - Continuing Education
- Maine Maritime Academy's Division of Continuing Education and Distance Learnign offers the following courses and services for mariners on the college campus in Castine, Maine, U. S. A. Individual courses are offered at company selected training sites in the United States or abroad. Programs are: ARPA (Automatic Radar Plotting Aids), Bridge Resource Management, Chemical Tanker Safety, Marine Diesel Engine Operation and Maintenance, Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats, FCC License Testing, Flashing Light Signaling Test, GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress & Safety System), IGS/COW (Inert Gas Systems/Crude Oil Washing), ISM Maritime Auditor/Lead Auditor, PIC (Person in Charge Tankship Dangerous Liquid Cargo), Radar Observer, Radar Recertification, Ships Medicine, Ships Medicine - Advanced. - International Association of Maritime Universities
- Maine Maritime Academy is a founding member of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU). The organization seeks to establish a worldwide network among maritime universities of excellence and to enhance the safety of international ocean traffic through the establishment of an international maritime society to promote the scientific and academic approach to maritime education and training. Sponsored by The Nippon Foundation of Tokyo, Japan, IAMU was established as a non-profit organization in 1999 by seven maritime universities representing the various regions of the world.
- Today, Maine Maritime is one of more than 30 member institutions located throughout the world. MMA hosted the 3rd General Assembly of IAMU in late September 2002 at the Samoset Resort on the Ocean in Rockport, Maine. The conference served as an academic forum for "Enhancing Global Maritime Excellence", offering extensive exchange of theory and practice pertaining to professional maritime training and education. The college also hosted a concurrent student program.
- MMA President Leonard H. Tyler served as chairman of IAMU in 2002-2003 and was re-elected to the post at the organization's 6th Annual General Assembly held in late October 2005 in Malmo, Sweden. He is the first person to serve a second term as IAMU's top executive.
